Gig workers in India to top 23 million by 2029-30: Niti Aayog report

The Aayog, in its report ‘India’s Booming Gig and Platform Economy, has urged the government to ensure universal social security coverage to platform workers while recommending industry to provide them with sick leave, health cover and accidental insurance cover as is prevalent in other countries.
