Karnataka government to purchase 4,000 buses, recruit 13,000 drivers and conductors: CM Siddaramaiah
The government of Karnataka, India, has pledged to purchase 4,000 buses from the state's road transport corporation, and will recruit 13,000 drivers, conductors and mechanics. The announcement was made by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on 20 July. The moves followed the successful implementation of the Shakti scheme, which offered free travel to women on state buses.
